The WebSim app is a revolutionary financial modelling platform used for back testing trading ideas and signals. The app provides powerful tools to users that were formerly available only to Wall Street teams and required intensive and expensive infrastructure. Users can learn quantitative modelling skills and gain real-world experience using actual historical data. Platform includes tools designed to teach users how to create, improve and track alphas. Users can compete with others in WorldQuant Challenge - a continuous global alpha building competition. People who do well in it may be offered consulting positions with the parent firm with the possibility of monetizing their research.

You must be a registered WebSim user to login and use the app. The app has the following features –
Home: A snapshot of all activity – position in the competition, days till next level, upcoming events, recent posts from the forum, training videos relevant to you, etc.
Videos: Watch recordings of training sessions on getting started, how to build alphas, use new datasets, best practices, etc.
Simulate: Use either our proprietary expressions or python programming language to build and simulate alphas based on your ideas.
Simulation Results: View simulation results in either chart or tabular format. Use the simulation settings to fine tune performance of your alpha.
Alphas: View, compare and manage all your alphas. You can (re)name your alpha, assign a color group, delete it or make it a favorite.
Events: You can find and participate in web-based training and Q&A sessions. You can apply filters (country, city, language) to the events list to find a topic relevant to you.
Leaderboard – Users participating in “WorldQuant Challenge” will be able to see their ranking at a global level and see the current leaders. Users can apply different filters (Country, University, City) to get a subset of information that is of interest to them.
